The Self-Drive Experience is designed for adults who want to actively drive a dog sled themselves. After an introduction to driving techniques and equipment, participants take turns driving the sled with the guide. The trail leads through forests and open fields around Dragnäs and lasts approximately 1.5 hours. The dogs are rescue dogs and are cared for by Jenny and Basti. After the ride, the dogs are cared for together; there is time for questions and photos.

Basti, Jenny, and Ylvie live in Dragnäs with their 28 wonderful dogs, 2 adorable ponies, and a few happy chickens. They have been active in dog sledding since 2017 and have developed their team of rescue and second-hand dogs because they believe in second chances and want to make a difference for the dogs that find their new homes with them. Their dogs are beloved family members, regardless of their abilities.

  • We learned a lot about the care and nature of huskies. All the huskies come from difficult backgrounds and have found a loving home here. We were even allowed to help with feeding them.
